For example:

- identifying guidelines, principles, and components of food selection, presentation, aesthetics, and menu planning
- demonstrating knowledge of the role of food preparation and nutrition in promoting and maintaining personal health throughout the life span
- demonstrating knowledge of foodborne illnesses (e.g., causes, prevention, symptoms)
